Danube Cycle Path

330 kilometres of pure cycling joy

On the Danube Cycle Path you can experience "rideable" diversity: discover diverse landscapes, historic old towns, modern cultural sites, regional specialties and the stimulating alternation of nature and culture along the Danube from the Bavarian-Upper Austrian border in Schärding and Passau via Linz and Krems to Vienna!
The Danube Cycle Path leads along the UNESCO World Heritage Danube Limes and is part of the Eurovelo 6 route, which runs from the Atlantic Ocean first via France and the German Danube to Austria and then on to the Black Sea. With its barely noticeable gradients, it is particularly suitable for families and pleasure cyclists. From Passau to Vienna, it is mostly developed along both banks and offers cyclists variety and a different highlight every day.

Cycling

If you really want to get into the flow, you can experience the Austrian Danube region on the international Danube Cycle Path. It is a classic among cycle paths, but is constantly reinventing itself. It breathes the history of millennia and at the same time has its finger on the pulse of time. On a bike tour from Passau to Vienna, cyclists can enjoy the stimulating alternation of nature and culture. Exciting landscapes such as the „Schlögener Schlinge“ on the Danube and the romantic UNESCO World Heritage Site Wachau are just as enticing as city experiences in Vienna, Linz, Krems and Passau. Monasteries and abbeys, castles and ruins, picturesque villages and old marketplaces also lie along the way. The superb infrastructure, from first-class hotels to guesthouses (of which 50 ADFC bett+bike businesses) as well as bike service and rental points, also for e-bikes, guarantee comfortable cycling trips
